Anglo Continental Placements Ltd (Company Registration No.4577812) is a recruitment business which provides work-finding services to its clients and work-seekers. We act as an employment agency Anglo Continental Placements Ltd must process personal data (including sensitive personal data) so that it can provide these services – in doing so, Anglo Continental Placements Ltd acts as a Data Controller. 

You may give your personal details to Anglo Continental Placements Ltd directly, such as on an application or registration form or via our website, or we may collect them from another source such as a jobs board. Anglo Continental Placements Ltd must have a legal basis for processing your personal data. For the purposes of providing you with work-finding services and/or information relating to roles relevant to you we will only use your personal data in accordance with this privacy statement. At all times we will comply with current data protection laws.

Anglo Continental Placements Ltd will collect your personal data (which may include sensitive personal data) and will process your personal data for the purposes of providing you with work-finding services. This includes for example, contacting you about job opportunities, assessing your suitability for those opportunities, updating our databases, putting you forward for job opportunities, arranging payments to you and developing and managing our services and relationship with you and our clients. 

If you have opted-in we may also send you marketing information and news via email/text.  You can opt-out from receiving these at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” when you receive these communications from us. 

In some cases we may be required to use your data for the purpose of investigating, reporting and detecting crime and also to comply with laws that apply to us. We may also use your information during the course of internal audits to demonstrate our compliance with certain industry standards.

We must have a legal basis to process your personal data. The legal bases we rely upon to offer our work-finding services to you are:

  • To comply with a legal obligation that we have
  • To fulfil a contractual obligation that we have with you

  • Providing work-finding services to you and our clients;

The following are the different sources Anglo Continental Placements Ltd may collect personal data/sensitive personal data from:

  • Directly from you – provided via an advert or submitted direct to us
  • Our website, jobs boards, LinkedIn
  • From an agent/third party acting on your behalf
  • A former employer
  • A referee whose details you previously provided to us  
  • A friend, an  employer, a colleague

Personal data: 

  • Name, address, mobile/landline no. email
  • National insurance no. 
  • Nationality (through right to work check)

Sensitive personal data (if explicit consent has been obtained): 

  • Health information including whether you have a disability
  • Criminal conviction

Data retention

Anglo Continental Placements Ltd will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary and in accordance with our legitimate interests, your interests and those of our clients, subject always to any legal obligations which may require us to retain your personal data for a longer period. However, we will retain your personal data for 6 years from our registration of your details or our last contact with you, whichever occurs later.  You may request your personal data is erased in accordance with your rights below.

Sharing Personal Data with Third Parties

Anglo Continental Placements Ltd may also share your personal data we collect in the provision of our recruitment service with:

  • Our own third-party service providers who deliver services on our behalf and who may process your personal data in the performance of those services under our instruction (subject to agreements with our third-party service providers) and which include but not be limited to our accountants, auditors, legal advisors and IT service provider.
  • Any authority; which may include but is not limited to; central and local government departments, law enforcement and fraud prevention agencies, HM Revenue & Customs, regulators and other tax authorities; other statutory regulators;

We will share your personal data with the above third parties where required by law or where we have a legitimate interest in doing so. We have a legitimate interest in; complying with our obligations under the law, assisting authorities in the prevention of crime and fraud, assisting authorities in maintaining national security and protecting public security, and or where we believe it is necessary in connection with the establishment, defence, and or exercise of legal claims

Transferring data outside of Europe

We confirm that your personal data is retained within our IT systems which are held on our local servers here in the UK and in our email system, which is hosted by our cloud based email service provider, Microsoft Office 365.  Microsoft adheres to the principles of the EU-U.S Privacy Shield frameworks. Client and Supplier Contacts

We may collect and process personal data received from employees from our clients and suppliers (Contacts), which typically include their contact details and our service communications. We will only collect such personal data either directly from a Contact, or as a consequence of our communications and discussions with our client regarding our services or with our supplier regarding their services.

We may use Contact personal data to discuss recruitment services with clients, to deliver our recruitment services to clients, to perform our obligations or enforce our rights under a contract with our client or supplier, and to keep in touch with Contacts regarding future services they may require or wish to offer us, all of which are in our commercial interests. Less commonly, we may need to process Contact data in the event we are required to comply with any legal and or statutory obligations, and or for which we may need in order to exercise, bring or defend any legal claim. We will retain Contact personal data for as long as we believe it is necessary in the pursuit of our commercial interests, and which will generally be for the duration of our contract with any client or supplier and for a period of up to 2 years thereafter.

Your rights

Please be aware that you have the following data protection rights:

  • The right to rectification of your personal data;

Sale of business

If Anglo Continental Placements Ltd’s business is sold or integrated with another business your details may be disclosed to our advisers and any prospective purchasers and their advisers and will be passed on to the new owners of the business.

Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, consultants, our accounts clerk or a marketing assistant) are granted access to your information.
